Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

 

IN-STeP, through the Skilling Queenslanders for Work, Skill Up initiative, is offering eligible people access to a career in Childcare.
Skill Up offers tailored assistance to adult job seekers to upskill or reskill in entry level positions in high priority industries to maximise existing and future job opportunities.

Are You Ready to Start Your Career in Childcare!

IN-STeP’s Childcare project has been designed to assist eligible participants obtain the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, and gain employment in the local Childcare sector. Designed around a flexible delivery model, our goal is to help people overcome their fears and take the first step towards their new career.

As second chance training program, any previous accredited training completed, will not affect your eligibility.

This project has 30 positions available, and is open to adult job seekers aged 25 years and older, that include:

  • recently retrenched or displaced workers as a result of COVID-19
  • women re-entering the workforce.
  • mature age job seekers 45 years and over
  • veterans
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • migrants and refugees from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • people with disability
  • under-utilised workers, including workers who are marginally attached to the labour force or under-employed.

What's Involved

This project’s main objective is to provide training and employment opportunities for participants to enter the Childcare Industry.

  • Participants are required to undertake 3 days training per week.
  • 2 in our flexible classroom delivery, 9:00am to 3:00pm and,
  • 1 day on site in a childcare centre, which will be designed to suit both the Centre and participant.

IN-STeP will assist in this step to find the right placement for you. This training will be delivered over a 12-month period.

You Have Our Full Support

Participants will also receive non-accredited training and individualised support to help them through this project that will include;

  • Human Skills Training (employability skills for adults).
  • Team building and Job preparation workshops.
  • Drivers licence support (anyone who is on their learners or doesn’t have a licence).
  • Personalised support and guidance to help you overcome the barriers you may face throughout your training.

 

In order to work in a child related employment, participants must hold or be eligible to hold a ‘Blue Card’.

Our team will help you through this process, but it is vital to understand that you are NOT eligible for this program if you are disqualified or not eligible to hold a Blue Card.
