On a serious note, there has never been a better time to become a Driver Trainer. Demand is at an all-time high, and IN-STeP driving school is seeking trainers to join our team and help our customers learn to drive. If you have a friendly positive outlook, are caring, compassionate, and enjoy collaborating with a diverse client group we would love to hear from you.

Attaining the qualification to become a driving instructor is not a challenging task and we are happy to assist you in becoming qualified. TLI41221 – Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport – Car Driving Instruction) is the course you will need to complete and through our RTO, we have options available for the completion of this course. This can be completed full time or part time and includes 12 core units and approximately 18 hours in car training.

Great trainers’ have good personal skills, patience, the ability reach each individual, are adaptable and intuitive with a passion to see other succeed.

To be eligible, you must meet these driver licence requirements to become an accredited driver trainer:

  • hold a valid open driver licence issued in Australia or New Zealand for the class of vehicle for which the applicant wishes to provide training
  • have held the licence for a continuous period of at least 1 year immediately prior to making the application
  • driver trainers have a legal, moral, and professional obligation to understand, obey and know that regulations exist for very definite reasons. These include guidance, restraint, uniformity, and safety.
  • have a sound traffic history record.
  • you may be refused accreditation if convicted of a criminal offence or is currently charged with a criminal offence and the charge has not been fully disposed of.
  • accredited driver trainers must have a suitability card (blue card) issued by the Queensland Public Safety Business Agency

The IN-STeP driving school is seeking a qualified driver trainer to join our team and help our customers learn new skills.  The person we seek will need a friendly positive outlook, be caring, compassionate, ability to work flexible hours and be able to cope with a diverse client group whilst maintaining an exceptional level of quality driving tuition.

The successful applicant will be;

  • Qualified Driving Trainer
  • Hold a Blue Card for child related employment
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written as well as an understanding of issues affecting disadvantaged clients
